Terms of Use

1. The agreement

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and KetoBunny (formerly KetoBuddy), operated by Daniel Hangan, an individual sole operator based in New York, United States (“KetoBunny,” “we,” “us”). They cover the KetoBunny iOS app, the website at ketobunny.app, subscriptions bought in either place, and related services (together, the “service”). KetoBunny was previously called KetoBuddy; the change of name does not change your account, your subscription or these Terms.

By using the service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use it. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. Accepting these Terms does not replace any separate consent the law requires for health information, AI processing or advertising.

2. Eligibility and your account

KetoBunny is intended for adults 18 or older. You must also have the legal capacity to accept these Terms; where your country requires an older age to enter a contract on your own, that age applies.

You sign in with Apple or Google. Keep that sign-in secure, give accurate information, and tell us about any unauthorised use. One account per person. Do not impersonate anyone, share another person’s private information without permission, or transfer or sell your account. Use the same Apple or Google sign-in in the app and on the website so a subscription bought in one place works in the other.

3. What KetoBunny provides

KetoBunny is a general nutrition and wellness tool for recording meals, estimating calories and macros from photos, descriptions or barcodes, setting goals, tracking body measurements and habits, recording ketone test results, estimating ketosis from what you log, browsing recipes, and taking part in buddies, challenges and a community Q&A.

Features, plans and reasonable usage limits (including fair-use limits on meal scans) are described in the app or on the website. Internet access and an active subscription are needed for most functions. We do not guarantee a particular weight change, ketone level, metabolic or nutritional result, or uninterrupted availability.

KetoBunny is independent. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by any diet programme, clinic, laboratory, ketone-meter maker, or the researchers whose published work we cite.

4. Medical and dietary limitations

KetoBunny is not a medical device, healthcare provider, or substitute for a qualified clinician or registered dietitian. Its content, calculations, scores, reminders and AI outputs are general information, not a diagnosis, individual medical advice, treatment plan, prescription or emergency-monitoring service.

Talk to a qualified professional before starting or materially changing a ketogenic diet, calorie restriction, fasting, exercise or supplement routine, especially if you have diabetes, take medication that affects blood glucose or blood pressure (including insulin or SGLT2 inhibitors), have kidney, liver, pancreatic, gallbladder or fat-metabolism problems, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a history of an eating disorder. This list is not complete.

Do not start, stop or adjust medication or insulin because of an app result. The onboarding safety questions cannot identify every risk, and the absence of a warning is not medical clearance. Stop and seek advice if you feel unwell.

KetoBunny cannot detect or rule out diabetic ketoacidosis or any other emergency. Nutritional ketosis and diabetic ketoacidosis are different conditions. If you suspect an emergency, call your local emergency number. Do not wait for an app estimate, a notification or a reply from us.

Calorie and weight tracking can be harmful for people with a history of disordered eating. If tracking is making things worse, stop and talk to someone you trust or a professional. In the US you can call or text 988 at any time.

5. Ketone readings and estimates

KetoBunny records results you enter from a separate test. A phone camera, a food photo, a meal log or an algorithm does not measure the ketones in your blood.

Blood, urine and breath tests measure different substances in different units and are not interchangeable. Check the method, unit, timing and value against your device’s instructions before you record a result. A strip photo is a picture, not a laboratory result.

Any food-based ketosis score, level, trend, confidence label or calibration is an approximation from incomplete information. It cannot confirm your ketone level or prove you are in ketosis, and calibrating against an earlier test does not turn later estimates into measurements. A higher ketone number is not necessarily healthier. Do not use app estimates to calculate insulin, manage diabetes, decide that fasting is safe, or decide whether you need emergency care.

6. Calories, macros, AI and body measurements

Food recognition, portion sizes, calories, protein, fat, carbohydrates, fiber, sugar alcohols and net carbs can be wrong or incomplete. Hidden ingredients, cooking methods, brands, database quality and serving units all affect the result. Check packaging and correct your entries before relying on totals. Carbohydrate and fiber labelling differs between countries, so check whether a carbohydrate value already excludes fiber. Net carbs are a tracking convention, not a precise prediction of your body’s response.

AI can misidentify food, miss ingredients, produce an implausible number or explain a wrong answer confidently. KetoBunny cannot reliably detect allergens, contamination, ingredient safety, or whether a food meets your medical or religious requirements. Do not use an AI result as an allergen or food-safety check.

Energy targets, weight projections, BMI, waist-to-height ratios and other body calculations are general estimates that do not fully account for your physiology, medication, illness, pregnancy or measurement error. Check your units and get professional advice for individual targets.

7. Subscriptions: the basics

KetoBunny Pro is an auto-renewing subscription. You can buy it in the app through Apple’s App Store, or on ketobunny.app through Stripe. Both unlock the same Pro access on the same account. Section 8 applies to App Store purchases and section 9 to web purchases.

• The plans, price, currency, billing period, any free trial and the renewal price are shown before you confirm. The price you confirm is the one that applies; these Terms do not fix a price across countries.
• We sometimes test different prices or trial lengths, so two people may see different offers at the same time. You are charged the price shown to you at purchase.
• Free trials are for new subscribers and are limited to one per person or account. Unless you cancel before it ends, a trial converts to the paid plan at the price disclosed when you started it.
• Deleting the app, signing out or deleting your KetoBunny account does not cancel a subscription.
• Subscribing in both places means paying twice. If that happens, cancel one, and contact us about a web duplicate.

8. App Store subscriptions

Payment is charged to your Apple account when you confirm a purchase, or when an eligible free trial ends. The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends; your account may be charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends. Apple decides trial and offer eligibility, and unused trial time may be forfeited when you buy a subscription.

To cancel: iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → KetoBunny. Apple shows when access ends. We cannot cancel an App Store subscription for you. If Pro is missing on a new device, use Restore Purchases in the app with the same Apple account, and contact us if that does not work.

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by us, at reportaproblem.apple.com. Eligibility is decided by Apple and applicable law. Price changes follow Apple’s notice and consent rules.

9. Web subscriptions (Stripe)

Subscriptions bought on ketobunny.app are sold by us and processed by Stripe. Stripe handles your card details; we never see or store your full card number. Prices are charged in US dollars unless checkout shows otherwise, and any tax we are required to collect is shown at checkout. Your bank may add foreign-transaction fees.

• Billing and renewal. If your plan has a free trial, you are charged when the trial ends; otherwise you are charged when you subscribe. The subscription then renews automatically at the end of each period, at the price shown at checkout, using the payment method you gave, until you cancel. By subscribing you authorise those recurring charges.
• Cancel any time at ketobunny.app/account, which signs you in and opens Stripe’s customer portal. Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep Pro until the end of the period or trial you are in, and you are not charged again. To avoid being charged when a trial ends, cancel before the trial end date shown in the portal. If you cannot use the page, email us and we will cancel for you.
• Refunds for web purchases are handled by us. Email dan@dansugcmodels.com with the email used at checkout. We will refund where the law requires it, and we consider other requests (for example, a renewal you forgot to cancel and have not used) fairly. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe.
• UK and EEA consumers may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of first subscribing. If you asked us to start the service during that period, we may deduct an amount for the time you have already had Pro, where the law allows.
• Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe may retry it and we may pause Pro until it succeeds or the subscription ends.
• Price changes. We will tell you about a price increase for an existing web subscription in advance, by email, and it will apply only from a later renewal. You can cancel before it takes effect. Where the law requires it, we will also remind you before a trial ends or an annual plan renews.
• Promotion codes apply only as described when issued, cannot be exchanged for cash, and may expire.

A web subscription is not managed in iPhone Settings, and Apple cannot refund it. Stripe’s own terms also apply to payment processing.

10. Your content and community rules

You keep ownership of your photos, text and other content. You give us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, reproduce, transmit, process and display it only as needed to provide the features you ask for, keep the service secure, meet support or legal obligations, and show it to the people you choose. Our service providers may process it for those purposes under the Privacy Policy.

This permission does not let us publish your private meal or health records, use them in advertising, or sell them. It ends when the content is deleted, except for protected backups, records the law requires us to keep, and copies already shared with other users.

You must have the right to post what you post. In buddies, challenges and the community Q&A, do not post:

• harassment, threats, hate, or targeting anyone for their body, weight or appearance;
• sexual or nude content, or anything that exploits a minor;
• dangerous instructions, medication or dosing advice, or promotion of extreme restriction, purging or disordered eating;
• spam, selling, scams, links or referral codes;
• another person’s photo or private information without their permission, or unlawful content.

Community posts may be reviewed before they appear. We may remove content, limit posting, or suspend accounts to deal with violations or protect people. Content that sexually exploits a minor is removed permanently and reported to the authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. Report content with the in-app tools or by email, and email us if you think we got a decision wrong. Other users’ statements are their own, not professional advice and not endorsed by us.

11. App licence and acceptable use

Subject to these Terms and the App Store rules, you get a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use KetoBunny on Apple devices you own or control, and to use the website for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.

We and our licensors keep all rights in the app, the website, the KetoBunny name, mascot and design, the recipe library and the software. Do not resell the service, bypass payment, scan limits or access controls, access another person’s account, use automated means to access the service, upload malware, overload the service, or unlawfully copy or reverse engineer it. These limits do not remove rights the law makes non-waivable.

Sign-in providers, AI services, hosting, payment processors and the App Store operate under their own terms, which you must follow when they apply. Barcode product data comes from Open Food Facts under its licence.

12. Changes, suspension and ending use

You can stop using KetoBunny at any time, cancel your subscription (section 8 or 9), and delete your account as explained in the Privacy Policy.

We may change features, carry out maintenance, or suspend access where reasonably necessary for security, misuse, non-payment, legal reasons or a serious breach of these Terms. Where practical and lawful we will explain why and give you a way to contact us. We will give reasonable notice of a material reduction in a paid service and provide any refund or other remedy the law requires.

We may update these Terms. Material changes will get reasonable notice in the app or by email, and we will ask for your agreement where required. Changes do not take away rights you have already gained, or authorise new health data or advertising uses without any consent the law requires.

13. Responsibility and consumer rights

We will provide the service with the reasonable care and skill the law requires. Because nutrition estimates and internet services have limits, we cannot promise every calculation is accurate or that the service will always be available or error-free.

To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you accepted these Terms, or for business losses from what is a personal consumer service. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else the law does not allow us to exclude or limit.

• United Kingdom and EEA: your statutory rights for digital content and services, including remedies when they are faulty, remain in force.
• Canada: applicable federal and provincial consumer protections, cancellation rights and non-waivable remedies remain in force.
• Australia: our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If a guarantee is not met you may be entitled to cancellation, a refund, a remedy and compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss, depending on the circumstances.
• United States: non-waivable rights under federal and state law, including automatic-renewal laws, remain in force.

These Terms do not impose mandatory arbitration, a class-action waiver, or a requirement to bring claims in a foreign court. The consumer laws and courts available where you live remain available to you. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern; doing so is not a condition of any legal right.

14. Apple-specific terms

If you got the app from the Apple App Store, the following also applies:

• These Terms are between you and Daniel Hangan, not Apple. We are responsible for KetoBunny and its content, maintenance and support. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support.
• If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty that is not effectively disclaimed, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price paid for the app, if any. To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
• We, not Apple, are responsible for claims about the app or your use of it, including product-liability claims, failure to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer-protection or privacy claims, and for investigating, defending, settling and discharging any claim that the app infringes a third party’s intellectual-property rights.
• You represent that you are not in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and that you are not on a US government prohibited or restricted party list.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this section and may enforce it against you. Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your App Store licence unless a valid custom licence replaces it.

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the service. If a provision cannot be enforced, the rest continues to apply as far as the law allows. Not enforcing a provision straight away is not a waiver. We may transfer these Terms as part of a sale or reorganisation of KetoBunny; no transfer will reduce your mandatory rights. You may not transfer them without our agreement.
